STAR WARS AND TRAINERS…. FINALLY

From early June of 2009, the talks of a co lab between adidas Originals and the star wars franchise has been circulating. This prospect excited me and any fans of the films, and sneaker heads in general. Both brands have a rich history of innovation and originality in each of their fields. The talk back in June was of a substantial release, including footwear, apparel and accessories for men. At first I was dubious about this, as pervious incarnations of star wars apparel has stood out to me as being crude and half baked.

So here we are in January, the promotional push towards the now solid January 16^th release date The promo has exploded, revelling some really interesting pieces. A video (see below) including David Beckham used a very imaginative use of film footage mixed with some cool remixes of the unmistakable Star Wars theme music . Even a Google application was made, featuring the option to destroy a location of your choice, using the infamous death star. Pictures of the collection ( see below) demonstrate some solid designs mixed with perfect execution of film images; which are all pulled nicely together with adidas exciting and innovative approach to the designs, notably the Darth Vadar and Stormtropper zip-ups. I am so excited to try and get my hands on some of the release, pushing towards the Stormtropper trainers and the large adidas leaf hoddie. Tell us what you think!!
